Spanning Calgary’s newly developed Ring Road, this 183m bridge that offers its users views to the Rocky Mountains and city skyline, acting as a space of meaningful gathering, storytelling, and education as one transitions from a residential community to Indigenous land.

The seven vertical rings encircling the bridge not
only encaptures the name of its surroundings, but it also reflects the Indigenous circular way of life. The Circular gathering area in the center of the bridge and the quadrant bench placement subtly alludes to the medicine wheel and its inherent seven teachings of harmony.

A red, eagle feather inspired guardrail was designed to represent and acknowledge the symbolism of the color and object. Red represents energy, blood, fire, and the missing and murdered Indigenous women and the eagle feather as one of the most sacred objects in Indigenous culture. It also symbolizes a step forward in the ongoing Reconciliation.
